I hugged Sean Maher and I liked it! ;D
Soooooooo today I got Summer Glau's autograph and a picture with her, and then I went to get Sean Maher's. I had made a print of the photo that greenie_breizh took of Sean for me when she did the interview for SeanMaher.info (which we run together), and I set it down on the table after I'd paid the handler the $25. Sean looked at the photo and asked, "Wait, where was that again?" and I told him (and said hi from you, greenie_breizh). "Of course! So you're Chris? Nice to meet you at last!" - and he got up and hugged me across the table! When he sat back down he said something to his handler under his breath which I didn't catch, then asked if I was around the whole weekend, to which I said yes. While Sean signed my picture, his handler told me, "You can keep the 25," and handed me back the money I'd paid him! I stuttered, "Oh - thank you!" and it was clear now what Sean had said to him! We briefly talked about the photo op and panel that were to follow that afternoon, but since there was not much time to chat since others were waiting, so we said goodbye, and I went in search of the photo op location. Did find it eventually, and while the group pics were sold out, I managed to still get a ticket for a Sean only photo op. Sean gave me a big grin and put both his arms around me, and the picture came out wonderful. (When I picked it up, another fan who collected his pic from the Firefly photo op commented that it looked almost like a boyfriend/girlfriend picture! I grinned and said, "I wish!" ;)
And that was how I spent the majority of the day - well mostly, waiting, particularly for the Summer auto and for the photo to be printed! A loooooooooot of waiting (helped by listening to the audiobook of Casanova's biography, read by Benedict Cumberbatch *whimper*), but it was worth it! Too bad the Firefly panel was full so I couldn't get it. That's a definite downside of such big events! Hopefully I can at least get into tomorrow morning's Sean and Summer panel - I don't have anything else on before it at least so can go queue up early.
Right, now off to the Aquarium - an extra excursion for D*C participants. Will scan the photos when I have the chance!
