I can see why this rumor persists. Especially now that Tobey is not going to be Spiderman in the next Spidey movie.

I heard him interviewed on the red carpet about Spiderman at the Golden Globes last night. He didn't seem to mind not being Spiderman any longer.

Well Sam Raimi also bailed out, so they can't have been happy with the direction the studio wanted to take with the next film!
