I was expecting plenty of sunshine today and was dreading the prospect of being out in the sun for hours because of work. I was prepared, though: I got water and a new brown tweed hat. We were all waiting for the apocalypse, really, and the people at the office were thinking and joking about leads like "City hunkers down for judgment day." Well, apocalypse did not come and it was relatively quiet in the city, although there were pockets of protests. I made tons of phone calls and interviews and checked some places, just in case. Overall, it was pretty uneventful on my end. No rallies, no mass hysterics, no police brutality. Just gray skies and lots of rain, which came down, just in time for me to step indoors.
