Hello! My name is Melanie. I posted my room a few months ago, and since then, I've made some changes. I love the way it has turned out. Come look!
Here's what you see when you first walk in. My aunt bought me the lighting fixture for Christmas, and it's so much more practical than the lamps I used to have in my room.
As soon as you walk in, to the right, are some band posters and what I affectionately call my "Alyssa wall." It's where I've hung some of the things that remind me of my best friend.

I made the switch to black sheets a while ago, and I love them... but they're not the best if you have a pet that sheds.
There's my pup Jax. Sometimes I can't get him off the bed, no matter how hard I try.
One of my bedside tables. An old photo of my grandma and I, glasses, meds, and some light reading (nahht.)
The wall above my bed.
I love the way this print looks with my wall color.
Fortunes. I have probably 5-10 in there, and I rotate them every once in a while.
Family crest that I stole from my grandparents' house, a photo of Evergreen State College to motivate me to get through these last years of high school, a hilarious email that my nine year old sister sent to my mom, and A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Closet. It's awful in there, I'm not gonna lie.
I used to have my bookshelf where my desk is now, but I switched them. I like it SO much better this way. Now all of my black pieces are on one side, and all my brown pieces are on one side.
Signed things: Anthony Green, Tegan and Sara, and Saves the Day. Then there's my jewelry catch-all and a dish with change. Because I absolutely hate carrying around change.
I love this thing. I got it at the thrift store. It has some Boy Scout crest in the middle.
I caved and got an Expedit for my records. I really preferred being able to flip through them and see the covers, but I simply don't have enough room to have a bunch of crates sitting around, so I guess this will do.

Wall.
I hate that chair. It was my great grandmothers, so it's ancient. Extrememely uncomfortable. I'm saving for a nice one.
I love inkblots. My dad brought me back that military cap in the corner from Russia.

The brown side of the room. I don't really care if people say brown and black don't mix. I disagree.
