Few questions

I'm on a picture kick right now. I don't want to frame them all so I just want to stick them on my wall. Problem is, my apartments think they're fancy and have textured walls. I've tried all sorts of sticky tack but they eventually fall off. Aside from using 3M permanent tape, does anyone have any suggestions ( Read more... )

you can just make your own slats; all you need is some 2x4s and a way to cut them to the right size. this is a good cheap fix, but they do tend to move around. the slats are good because there are pins that make them hold in place (at least on my ikea bed, but its a different style). and you can always buy the slats later because i am pretty sure they come in standard sizes.

Yeah, I wish I knew how textured we're talking here....

I know on the horrible texture of brick wall that my dorms had, command strips worked really well to keep photos up.

I've also REALLY been liking this whole "hang photos on a clothesline wire type thing" that's all over the place -- IKEA even sells them now. Something like this: http://bottledsky.com/2009/11/01/make-your-own-photo-clothesline/

You should post pictures when you're done! :)

This may not be what you're looking for, but in my old bedroom we strung up two metal cables and used binder clips to hang up my favorite pictures of the moment. It gave a lot of visual interest to the wall and left all of my pictures intact.

Yah I don't really know how to describe the texture of my walls, but it's very bumpy. I'm sure it's got a technical name for it, but I have no idea. I really don't want to use permanent tape or anything that would ruin the wall and make me have to repaint before I move or cost me my deposit.

Funny several of you suggested the clothesline-type idea because I just bought this - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10151036 from Ikea a few nights ago.
