Strange
It seems that the founder of the Legion of Christ is about to be disowned posthumously as the organization's spiritual hero.
Why?
Could it be the decades of sexual abuse of children, so bad that the Pope himself censured him during his lifetime?
No.
Because he had a MISTRESS! and at least one love child!
I am amazed by a moral structure that considers out-of-wedlock adultery (with another adult!) WORSE than child abuse.
I realize these folks are not mainstream Catholics, and thus are not representative. But I liked this commentary in terms of thinking about which societies are Karasses vs. Granfalloons:
