Jaejoong stared out of his apartment window and watched the sun set on the horizon, the sky turning from a pretty shade of orange to a light shade of purple.

Purple line Jaejoong thought, as he leaned against the window sill. He slid open the window and let the cold December wind touch his face. The news report from earlier had said that the temperature was six degrees and that there were chances of snow, so people were advised to dress warmly and stay indoors as much as possible. Despite that though, Jaejoong loved the cold weather. He loved the feeling of a gust of cold wind blowing across his face, the shivers down his spine and the sleepy mornings - he loved everything about winters.

“You’re going to catch a cold…”

Changmin’s voice snapped him out his reverie. Jaejoong looked over his shoulder and smiled at Changmin. “I was just thinking…”

“Of course you were…” Changmin said as he placed down two cups of hot chocolate on the table’s surface. “…have some, it’s good.”

Jaejoong walked over to the table and picked up his mug of hot chocolate. He blew at the steam that hovered over the mug and took a deep sniff of the beverage.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Changmin asked, sipping on his hot chocolate, as he settled on a nearby chair.

“Just thinking about that wedding…” Jaejoong shrugged, taking a seat opposite Changmin.

“Oh the Jung Finances one?”

“Yup…”

“What about it?”

“I don’t know how we’re going to pull it off in less than twelve days…and we haven’t even gotten the guest list ready. I feel very jittery about the scenario and the couple doesn’t really know anything about planning a wedding, it’s like teaching a third grader tenth grade mathematics.” Jaejoong muttered as he ran a frustrated hand through his hair.

“Well if you need anything I am always there, you know? You could always divide the work with me, that way it’ll help me get some sort of experience.” Changmin suggested.
Jaejoong hummed in response. “True…okay, hold that thought and let me get my notebook then we’ll discuss what can be done…”

Jaejoong jumped off his chair and ran to get his notebook. There were lots of things going through Jaejoong’s head - ideas popping, contacts filing, color schemes forming and Ara’s overwhelming confession.

I’m pregnant…we thought it would be best to get married before…before I start showing….

He particularly didn’t know why it affected him so much but, the fact was that it did. He heaved a loud sigh and picked up his notebook before he walked back to where Changmin was waiting for him.

-

“Yunho’s said that he’s sorry that he won’t be joining us…” Ara said, as she walked into Jaejoong’s office and taking her coat off. “He had some clientele business to take care of.”

“Oh that’s alright…” Jaejoong smiled, trying his best to ignore the little fall of his heart. “We’re just going to look at some invitations designs and run through the guest list…is that alright?”

“Sure…” Ara glowed, taking a seat opposite to Jaejoong’s. “We don’t really want it to be a big wedding, just a small one, so I don’t think the guest list will be much of a problem.”

“That solves most of our problems then…” Jaejoong smiled as he pulled out his Blackberry and started scrolling through it. “I’ve collected some samples for the invitations, how about you take a look at them?”

“Sure.”

Jaejoong picked up the telephone and called Changmin, asking him to bring over the book of designs they had picked up earlier in the day. “We have to go gown shopping for you…” Jaejoong beamed, after placing the phone back. “…honestly, gown shopping is my favorite part of planning a wedding.”

“Oh really?” Ara asked inquisitively; “Why so?”

“It’s amazing to see the bride dress up and stand in front of the full length mirror, that’s the point where every girl truly becomes a princess.” Jaejoong laughed mirthfully.

“Aww…” Ara cooed, “…I hope I get the dress I’ve always wanted.”

“Don’t worry, it’s out there…we’ll go searching for it.”

Just then the door opened and Changmin stepped in smiling before he bowed slight to Ara and walked over to Jaejoong. He placed the book of designs on the table. “I hope you like them…” He said, smiling at Ara and the lady smiled back at him. ”Thank you Changmin-sshi…”

Once Changmin had walked out of the office, Ara flipped through the book, stopping at some pages to examine the samples. “Yunho would probably like this one…” She said, stopping at one of the designs. It was a simple one, white and purple color schemed. “He would definitely like this one…” Ara said, smiling coyly to herself.

“I think this is it.”

Jaejoong noted down the design number and the contact details and also made a mental note that he had also preferred the same design.

“Alright, I’ll contact the printers and we might have all the invitations delivered to us by tomorrow morning.” Jaejoong grinned.

“Brilliant!”

“Now for some shopping, if you can get in contact with your bridesmaids then we can go and search for that special dress…”

“Um, actually…” Ara hesitated and she shifted uncomfortably. “I have to go to the doctor’s today…for um, my check up, so is it alright if we do it tomorrow?”

“Sure.” Jaejoong replied, sitting up straight and scribbling something down onto his notepad. “I wish you all the best with your check up.”

“Thank you.” Ara replied before she picked up her coat and headed out.

-

“That was quick.” Changmin said as he peeked in the moment Ara was gone.

“Yeah, it was…” Jaejoong sighed “…now I just need to send these names and addresses to the printing shop with the invitation design and then everything is going to be alright…”

“Seems like everything is going smoothly.”

“Yes and no…” Jaejoong groaned, running a hand over his face; “We still have to figure out a seating arrangement for the reception, and that’s going to be so difficult.”

“You’re going to be just fine.” Changmin said with a smile. “I am going to make you some tea so that you can relax a bit.”

“You’re a blessing. You truly are…”

“Took you long enough to notice.” Changmin grinned, throwing Jaejoong one of his smug looks.

-

It was somewhere around six when Yunho stepped into Jaejoong’s office; “Changmin told me you’d have been stressing over something…” Yunho commented when he saw Jaejoong’s head buried in papers.

Jaejoong sat up and groaned. “Paperwork, I hate paperwork…”

Yunho took a seat at Jaejoong’s table and smiled softly. “You need a break.”

“I know. I will spoil myself rotten after all this is done…oh, that reminds me, I have a few suggestions for wedding halls. Ara-sshi and you can look into that later when you both come in tomorrow and also, I have already contacted the caterers - they’re the best in town, so I’m not really asking you for approval, no matter how unprofessional it may seem. Ara-sshi is going gown shopping tomorrow morning so I can take you to the tailor’s in the evening - you need to cancel whatever you have and - “

“Breathe!” Yunho cut in suddenly, interrupting Jaejoong’s long speech. “You need to breathe…you’re planning a wedding for Ara and I, not royalty.”

“Every wedding is royal.” Jaejoong stated, in a very matter of fact tone. He piled all his papers together and dumped them into his drawer. “I’ve already sent in the invitations to be printed, we’ll get that by tomorrow afternoon or so then we can send them out immediately.”

“You know what…” Yunho said, standing up. “You need a break, really, and you need it now. It might not be pampering but, I think an ice cream would do you good.”

“Are you mad?” Jaejoong stared at him unbelievably “It’s freezing out there and you’re getting married in ten days and you’re offering me ice cream?” Jaejoong questioned, his voice reaching its his highest pitch.

Yunho chuckled and walked over to Jaejoong’s side of the table. He held onto Jaejoong’s hand and pulled the man up. “You should try eating ice cream during winter.” Yunho chuckled, leading the way to the door. “The feeling is wonderful.s.”

Jaejoong didn’t know why he couldn’t resist Yunho as he followed the latter onto the trail to madness.

-

They sat at the bench in the park, each cradling their ice cream cone carefully. “This is mad…you are mad.” Jaejoong laughed, throwing his head back.

“So I have been told.” Yunho said in between taking small licks of the ice cream. “But you’ve got to admit, this is good.”

“Hmm…” Jaejoong hummed, licking his ice cream. “….it is, I agree and thank you for pulling me out of my office. I needed it.”

“I figured.” Yunho grinned. “But shit, it really is cold…” he said, rubbing his knees together.

“Isn’t it?” Jaejoong replied, edging towards Yunho. “We should sit closer…” he blurted, surprised by his own bold flirting. “…our body heat will keep us warm.”

Yunho nodded and they sat huddled together, eating their ice cream, making small talk and occasionally slipping into companionable silence.

“Do you ever want to get married?” Yunho asked, as he turned to Jaejoong.

“I do…” Jaejoong replied, “Yet at the same time, I don’t.”

“I don’t think that makes sense.”

“Well, I would want my wedding planner to be as perfect as I am…” Jaejoong laughed jokingly. “…but jokes aside, I don’t really know if I want to get married or not.”

“You’ve planned so many weddings though.” Yunho commented. “Surely, you’ve had thoughts about planning your own someday?”

“I’ve had those thoughts, but they’re just dreams built on clouds you know? Sometimes I want an extravagant wedding and sometimes, I just want a simple backyard wedding…I’m really so confused - “ Jaejoong laughed quietly. “But you know I - “

Before Jaejoong could get another word out, Yunho was kissing him, full on the lips and it sent Jaejoong’s mind reeling backwards and forwards and in every way possible. He was warm, and Yunho’s lips tasted like pistachio. Jaejoong felt numb for about a second before he kissed Yunho back and out of some sick pleasure, he thought of how it would be like to kiss the other man senseless and to kiss him until there was nothing left but just the two of them in his mind.

All of Jaejoong’s previous assumptions had been right. Yunho was an excellent kisser and Jaejoong wanted nothing more but to continue kissing him.

Images of Ara flashed through Jaejoong’s mind suddenly, and her voice reverberated through his head. ”I’m pregnant….”. Jaejoong gasped and pulled away from Yunho and before the latter could say anything, Jaejoong stood up and ran away.
