I have often dreamed of things like that myself...

I like the roof in the background of the photograph...we don't have things like that in the "new world".
I remember being in a bus transporting me from Rotterdam to Amsterdam...I'd never seen such flat yet luscious land before....The modern buildings were formidably designed with an aesthetic eye...And seemlessly, the scenery transferred into farmlands and windmills and cows....So green was the grass here, below sea-level...I smiled, surrounded by a place which, having defied nature, had remained as modern as it was antique, with practicality and without pretension.

london, grey and fierce, but there's a park with deers and ducks and when i cycle along the thames i pretend to be a boat..

holland is so flat, i never had to cycle up a hill, and if i did, it was always a very small one. Now i will have strong leg muscles!

When were you in holland? I miss it sometimes, but prefer to be there as a tourist, and see all the little things of beauty that i did not see when i lived there..

Well, I do so wish i'd seen more of holland, but it was a lovely bus-ride from rotterdam to amsterdam....no matter how many times i kept falling asleep from time-zone changes XD

oh and it was to the airport, so now city tour...and only the most fleeting impressions....but those were sturdy and beautiful ones.

i used to ride the train from amsterdam to rotterdam every day..

once i made a movie of it. you can change the speed of travel by music!
