Ballpark pictures

The Gnats got swatted again tonight, but here are some pictures from last night's game:

Like I said, there were a lot of kids at the ballpark yesterday. These kids looked to be Little Leaguers, down to the uniform hats.

Bennett and Ohka warm up in deep left before the game. Bennett is throwing, Ohka-san is just loosening-up at the top of the frame

This man was busy trying to teach the game to his kids. The whole game--balls, strikes, outs, how to play the left-handed pull hitter, hitters' versus pitchers' counts....everything. He had so much baseball in him just bursting to get out--it was neat to sit next to him and his kids

PLAY BALL!Yes, friends, this is the view from Section 457, Row 1, Seat 7...somewhat obscured by a railing, but otherwise, beautiful.

This kid thoroughly enjoyed his first trip to the ballpark. He said to me: "I ride past this place every day on my way to school....I never knew it was this pretty on the inside!"

The guy on the other side of me kept serious score. A real baseball fan, watching every pitch intently. When the game was over, we shook hands. It was very collegial, somehow.

All over, bar the crying. Oh well. Next time, Fish!
