Via DC Blogs Live Feed, I stumbled upon a Clintonista screed among many on Sugar'N'Spice. Sugar writes:

FF, she were to accept a VP offer from the Obamazoid campaign, let's keep our wits about ourselves and realize that we don't have to and we shouldn't support the ticket. I fully and absolutely expect that if she accepts an offer, it's to get ( Read more... )

excellent response. i've been cooling my jets, trying to wait until after saturday to say virtually the same thing.

AND. don't worry about the grades. what's done is done. take easier electives next year, do well in trial advocacy classes, and start networking for a great internship. if you're skilled and you've got your ear to the ground, you will get a gig. a federal job even. yes, even with your grades - it's been done!

Thanks for the comment.

I had been prepared for a nasty response, but the depth of their self-delerium (hey, did you know Obama is obviously a crypto-Republican, backed by Republicans to destroy the Democratic party?) reminds me uncomfortably of certain doomsday cultists.

It's just unreal. The essence of democracy is the aggregation of wills. Given a large, hetereogeneous group of people (say, Democrats) it will be impossible for all people to be satisfied with all solutions all the time. But we form parties and aggregate to maximize the number of acceptable outcomes for as many players as possible.

Instead, the "netroots" seem to think that they can be a meaningful part of the process by staying home and blogging to each other. Wake up, kids. Self-government takes work. It takes compromise. And unless you're willing to get the fuck away from your keyboards and start talking to real, live people who might not agree with you 100%, you're not going to get anything done.

Life is too important to be implemented over HTTP.
