The Ninth Anniversary
Nine years ago today - May 2nd, 1998 - the world lost a great musician named Hideto 'hide' Matsumoto, who was famous both as the lead guitarist of X Japan and as a solo artist. He was only thirty-three years old when he died.
hide was original and unpredictable in his style, so I think it would be inappropriate to use the same old phrases in relation to him. I am sad to say that I only discovered his work after his death, but it has convinced me that his music is alive no matter what. I believe he must have been a wonderful person and as long as the people who have loved him keep him in their hearts, he shall not be forgotten.
Remember that you never know how long you have left to live.
