First OTW Chat on December 27th, 2007!
Hello, everyone!
Next week on Thursday, December 27th will be our first OTW Group Chat. We will be using Campfire, which can host up to 25 people in a room. At least one member of the board and one member of ComRel (Community Relations) will be in there to answer questions, talk about what we've done so far, things we're working on, things we need help with, etc.
We'd have more OTW committee/board representation but we don't want to take up the room for everyone else to chat. We'd have it on IRC, but...well, if you've ever been in a room with more than 20 people, you know that things can tend to get pretty crazy and blinding.
So how's this going to work? Next week Thursday, I will post on how to actually get in the room - and it'll probably be pretty shortly before that chat is actually about to begin. Your 'slot' in the room will be first come, first served. As it's a holiday week for many of us, we are hoping this won't be too much of a challenge. If you don't manage to get in for this chat - we're sorry! - but there will definitely be many more chats to attend in the future, and we'll see how using Campfire goes.
The chat will be Thursday, December 27th, at 9 p.m. CST/10 p.m. EST. You can see what time that is for you locally on here. We're working on putting together a chat that will be at a much more European friendly time, and you'll definitely see more details for that once we've got those worked out.
We'll be trying out multiple chat times in the future so that we can get as many people into these as possible - so don't worry, we'll hit a time when you're actually awake as we go along here.
A chat transcript will be posted following the chat for those of you who are unable to attend.
