So it's about 3:45 in the afternoon here, and I'm sitting at home watching Scrubs season one while wandering about the net. And, as fun as it sounds, I'd rather be at work. Y'see, Papa John's gone through yet another management shift (the fourth since I started working there a year ago,) and this new manager doesn't seem keen on giving me many hours. I need about 30 a week to get by, and I've only got 10 this week. Part of it is that I've asked for the weekend off, because I've got a busy weekend ahead at Mayhem - we've got a new Magic set coming out, and we've got tourneys for it all weekend. Thing is, though, I've usually gotten the bulk of my hours on Monday through Wednesday. I'm only working 6 hours in that timeframe this week. So, I'm taking this afternoon and tomorrow to do some job hunting. I scanned monster.com, sent my resume from a few places, and even got a callback already from someone I didn't apply to. Got a phone interview tomorrow, even, so wish me luck on that. ^_^
In the meantime, I've been chilling out, watching TV and resting my foot. I went out dancing on Friday night for my friend Laurie's birthday, and when morning came, I was limping about. It's getting better now, but I'm still taking it easy on the foot. Gotta say, though, it was pretty fun gimping about Ames, looking like Keyser Soze...
Anyway, I'm feeling like a nap (haven't been able to do that on a weekday in a while... :P) so I'm out, but before I go, two quick things:
1) To keep in touch with friends, I've started up accounts on the binary star of online geekness,
Facebook and
MySpace. I know, I'm an emo sellout. Whatever, it's how I keep in touch with my friends. Anyway, I've been posting here (on LiveJournal, for those of y'all reading the Facebook feed) since early 2002, so I was emo back when it was cool, apparently.
2) RANDOM POP CULTURE SUGGESTION OF THE DAY: Thanks to Pete and Ben, I've added another webcomic to my daily pantheon. It's called
Questionable Content, and it's got me locked in hard. I got drawn in by a comic making a Final Fantasy joke, and as I read, I was pleased to find it's a great deal deeper than that. I's more an indie music comic than a gamer comic (rarely can someone make a Decemberists joke work, but creator Jeph Jacques does it,) and it's got an amazing romantic comedy storyline. Read now. Commit it to memory. Test on Friday.
Take it easy, folks. :)
BTW, one edit, two days later: I gotta stop changing how I wanna parse sentences halfway through typing them, then forget to correct the first half. I have grammar issues for no reason at all. :P
