Trippin' on Mayo Fumes

Well, I'm in need of a nap. I started my day with work from 9am-noon. It was okay, but the guest for Fresh Air was unbelievably dull. So that bit hard. Then, not long after eating lunch at my place, I went to work. In the span of 4 hours, I built a bookshelf and a desk for my new bedroom and did my laundry. The bookshelf was a bitch just because of its sheer weight. The desk was troublesome just because the screws included sucked for the job. But now I can stop mooching Pete's card table (which was my deck in the interim,) plus I once again have a place to "publicly" display all my manga. And now that it's all set up, I'm tempted to read all of Kodocha again... so good... Gotta stay on task here... :P Anyway, after I hopped in the shower, I had to go back to work until midnight. Still there actually, but at least it's not long 'til I get off.

Anyway, after I went to the new Jordan Creek shopping center in West Des Moines to pick up my desk (going back a day or two here, so hang with me,) I finally gave in to temptation. I stopped at Best Buy and picked up an iPod. And man, am I digging it. The abilities of this thing are boggling. For one thing, I've already loaded my entire collection (2225 songs) on there, and I've still got 3.5 gigs to spare. (I picked up an already-opened 15-gig model, BTW,) The multitasking is pretty slick (if I so choose, I can make this thing a portable disk drive, PDA and voice recorder.) But one of my favorite features is the Music Quiz game. It's pretty simple. The iPod randomly grabs a 10 or 15 second sound clip from a track, then displays 5 song titles. You use the touchwheel to select a title, and if you're right, you earn somewhere between 0 and 1000 points, depending on how quick you are. And incorrect choices disappear as time passes. Pretty slick, if I do say so.

Alright, I'll be honest. Not much to say tonight - just bored at work. Time to go. Bye bye. Stay classy, San Diego.
