(no subject)
I hate not being able to sleep at night. Makes doing anything during the day a right pain in my rather substantial arse. I really want to be able to finish cleaning my room so that I can get to painting the walls. I got two different golden yellow colors (one two shades darker than the other) and plan on sponge painting them on my walls from darker at the top to lighter at the bottom (Yes, I am insane and I don't bloody well care! :D)
I think I've finally made up my ever changing mind and have decided that I'm going to dress up as a Hogwarts student in the Gryffindor House PoA style. I've been working on my scarf for the last several days and I'm three trapped bars in. 'The Monstrosity' as it will henceforth be called, should take me about two or so weeks so long as my fingers stop freezing up... I hate having crappy joints... N-E-Way, I'm in the process of finding pieces now so that I'm not in a mad rush by the end of next month. Even waiting this long may have been a mistake. I'll just have to see.
What I've got so far:
Scarf (WIP) = 3 sections in, only ten more to go... oi vay...
Wand (WIP) = Yes, I'm making my own, but only 'cause I'm anal that way. :P
Shirt = I've got a white Oxford shirt of a rather nice quality, but I'll be damned if I'm dying the thing. I might get a new shirt to dye later.
Shoes = I've got two different types of MJ's to choose from, just depends on what I might be doing.
What I'm going to scrap:
Sweater = The fact that I will have the scarf will probably make people think I'm nuts. Living here in San Antonio, Texas, we have, like, one day of cold weather (Ok, ok, two. :P JK), and Halloween ain't it. I would die of heat stroke if I tried wearing a sweater along with everything else.
What I've got to get:
Tie = I'm not overly concerned on this one, though I'm not QUITE sure who I'm going to be ordering from. I'll deal with it soon, though.
Skirt = This could pose a bit of a problem. Finding something that is the approximate color and shape of the PoA skirt, and getting it in a size that would fit me is proving to be a bit of a pain. Luckily, I still have a few places to keep looking. If things get bad enough, I'll go for the right color as opposed to the right cut, because if the color is off, it will be far more noticeable. And, if worse comes to worse, I've got a black ankle length skirt that, with some rolling of the waistband (Thank God for elastic!) and a temporary hemming of the bottom (it's got a little bit of a scalped edge to it) it would work in a pinch.
Robe = Ok, this is the biggie. You can't really pull off the look without it. What I'm doing is trying to shop around and look for the best one I can find for the best price. I can sew one if I need to, albeit with some major alterations seeing as how the only thing small on my is my social life. Heh, I've got a couple emails sent out to people and I'm waiting on replies. Hopefully they will come in soon.
Edit: Well, my plans to have this bloody thing finished by Halloween fell through, whitch is a good thing considering how the night wen anyway. Oh well. There is always next year... Still want to finish my scarf though...
