Christmas spirit
I didn't get to the dentist on Monday after all, thanks to getting sick. Blergh. I postponed the appointment til Friday and hope I'll be better by then and right now it does seem so.
Last Sunday we had a small Christmas celebration at the stable all with Santa Claus visiting, presents and gingerbread cookie decorating -competition. It was pretty fun, actually.
There was also a relay race riding Christmas Angels vs. Santa's Elves which I participated in elf team and surprisingly we won ^^ It ended up being even more humorous than was ment as all kinds of little things kept happening through out the race. For example before it even started one horse losed his bridles and kept on going with a perplexed rider trying to wrap her brains around what just happened (I still don't know how that managed to happen). Then there was a shetland pony who all the time had to be dragged away from eating decorations and also another horse had her saddle to flip sideways and an engel in all-white ended up covered in mud. At least the audience had fun XD but it was weird as these kept happening to people who know how to tack a horse, who know how to ride. I guess there was a naugty Christmas Spirit doing its magic :P
I had a fun time. I'm not used to being part of a group and so when was my turn to ride the course it felt -something like never before- to get cheers from my team mates and later to be told that I did good. I still go back to the moment and cherish the feeling, it's so precious and new I can't keep my mental fingers away from it.
And that we actually won - I've always felt that anything that I touch will be tarnished and so before the race felt like there's no chance for us because I'm in and actually felt bad that I had to participate because I was going to ruin this from others. Now I'm glad I did because I experienced something marvellous and didn't ruin everything after all. I almost felt like I was just like anyone else.
