humanity disgusts me sometimes

Scott Lively is an evangelical American who went to Uganda to campaign against gays. He gave speeches and held rallies to spread his message of anti-gay sentiment.

As a result of his campaign, there is a law going for approval in Uganda that sees as criminals those who do not turn gays in to the police, and also calls for the execution of gays in Uganda.

Today, Scott Lively's website says he "does not want gays to be executed, only steered towards therapy."

Scott Lively also says it is racist to believe that one man can drive the opinions and actions of a whole society.

Scott Lively took advantage of the vulnerability and fear of a people in impoverished conditions. He took advantage of it and twisted it for his own means. He has the blood of every dead gay Ugandan on his hands.

The bottom line is that gay people are human beings. The "Gay Movement" that Lively is protesting is in fact not a movement, but a civil rights revolution. Gays are gaining the rights that they deserve as human beings and as citizens of not only the United States but of the world.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the gay citizens of Uganda, whose lives just went from scary to terrifying because of one American's anti-gay ideals. We can only hope that the day comes soon when people realize that being gay is not a choice, and gays take their rightful places as members of a society based in liberty.

Spread the word, please.
