Bone By Bone by Carol O'Connell - 20 years after his brother vanished, Oren Hobbs returns home to find out that his brother Josh is coming home - bone by bone. Except that Oren, ex-Army CID, realizes that there are two separate bodies and forces his father, a retired judge, to call in the police. Now Oren is determined to find out what happened all those years ago no matter what ghosts from the past get resurrected. First standalone from the author of the Kathleen Mallory series. Good stuff though a bit too much going on.(A to Z author)

And I got a shipment on the newest reprints in the Parker series by Richard Stark, aka Donald Westlake (RIP) - all very recommended for crime fiction fans, noir fans, Stark fans and Westlake fans (plus Westlake's last(?) Dortmunder comes out later this month).

The Mourner by Richard Stark - Parker's doing a job for the dame from the beginning of "The Outfit" - stealing a small statue known as one of the Mourners. But there are, of course, complications. Complications that leave Parker and a pal wounded and in a very bad mood.

The Score by Richard Stark - At first, Parker thinks the job is crazy - knocking over a whole town? But the more detail he finds out, the more he thinks it could work. If only there weren't personal issues among the crew that start coming up. Well, Parker will knock them back down.

The Jugger by Richard Stark - Joe Scheer, the aged former safecracker who acts as a contact person for Parker, contacted him about a problem, so Parker heads to Nebraska to see if *Joe* has become a problem. But when he gets there, Joe is dead and other people are nosing around trying to find money they think he had - and they think Parker is after the loot too. But Parker's just trying to protect himself, and if he has to kill a bunch of people to do it... Ruthless and smart, would not want Parker on my bad side. Or my good side. Just keep him away please :)
