I continue to be amazed, moved, and impressed by the peaceful opposition demonstrations going on in Egypt. Egyptian Christians celebrated mass in Cairo's Liberation Square today. There have been weddings. Children and their mothers are there. The sheer pressure of their presence is slowly bending the iron bars of repression.

I know, I feel rather amazed as well (and amused to see how other countries' governments are starting to freak out). I really admire their resistance and hope it will all end (and begin) well for them!

They're protecting their heritage, too. So far they've managed to keep most of the looters out of the antiquities museums, which are very near Hosni Mubarak's offices.

honestly? I wouldn't get too excited about it. They will swap one hardline regime for another. And who will be the losers? The Christians and Jews and any other faith that isn't Islam.
