Life in the Zoo

Dec 09, 2007 09:18

In the past two days:

Oscar, my younger son's rotund cat, committed his faux paw on the hallway carpet again, when Doug forgot to chase him out before bedtime. My son is moving into an apartment near his college this spring. Oscar's bags are packed on the front steps. Only then will I replace the hallway carpet.

Bosco had an Unfortunate Mishap on the floor on Doug's side of the bed. Somehow D managed to get up before dawn and not step in it. It's a miracle. If he had, Bosco would probably be begging for divine treats in the Great Beyond. (not really, but it wouldn't have been pretty)

Left the patio door open yesterday afternoon for said incontinent animals while I went knitting. Came home to find an explosion of bird feathers in the hall (what is it about the hall???), the work of Zing the Merciless, who just loves to show off his kills.

Molly the Mutt has decided to steal Bosco's bed, and sleep with her feet against my nightstand, so that when she goes for long runs in her sleep, it wakes everybody up.**edit: Oh yes, and she farts.

Bosco, displaced from his own bed, has been suffering bouts of insomnia in which he wanders around in the dark, collar tags jingling, gets lost in the shower stall, forcing us to get up again and again, just in case he's planning another Unfortuate Mishap.

So far, the fish have behaved themselves, although Hannibal the Turtle did leave us. Not sure what the story is there and they're not talking.
