The Deathly Post

Nov 18, 2010 17:46

OMG, Deathly Hallows.

I watched it last night and I loved it. My two HP fan friends, who never loved the movies, thought this was the best one and the most loyal to the book. I, being more tolerant after years of movies, think the same  :P

 Les photos:

My grampa made the wands, aren't they great?

Look look who came with me!

I'm no longer sure whether I should get RayBans or not... don't think I look that cool, haha

Inside the room

We lot

Accio Ron!

Aheam. My fancy top has a crown, I wore it because... Weasley is my King! And shame they didn't take a pic of the back, it's all lace ^-^ My t-shirt is from the Quidditch World Cup :D

I'll post a not-so-spoilerish review, like a synopsis below, and then just pure spoilers with my opinion, please read them after you watched or don't blame me.

It's a very emotional movie. I only cried close to the end because people pissed me off and didn't quite let me be in the movie (seriously, they laughed with some things that weren't funny, or that were amusing, but you knew that what was coming was crap!), but I'm sure when I watch the dvd alone at home I'll be in tears. The beginning alone is terrific.

The actors did a great job. I think you all might forgive Emma just because of this movie, haha. Ron is great, and out of usual, he gets some very smart lines! That made up for six years of comic relief, really. The new actors are awesome, but I'm not quite convinced about Bill Nighy as Scrimgeour.

It's also quite scary, if you go with children. I'll go on that below with more detail, but it's gory and maybe you'll stop eating popcorn at some points.

The RHr scenes... There's only one letdown, because they gave us hope with a scene and they didn't include it, but it was sweet, the separation was awful, and I only have two complaints...

Never fear about the dance scene. It's really sweet, I can assure you.

The locket scene and the Tale of the Three Brothers rock with visual effects!

Dobby was a cutie and... I can't speak without tearing up.

Well, if you are stopping right there, I won't keep on talking. Just go, maybe don't bring any hopes so it will surprise you for real, and enjoy! Then, if you care, read my review and agree/disagree ;)

Proper review:

The opening was amazing. I loved to see the trio in their respective homes, saying goodbye (well, Ron was saying goodbye as well), and their families practically unaware. To see Hermione's face disappearing from the photographs, and Harry visiting the old cupboard...

The seven Potters are hilarious. It must have been a tricky scene, but totally worth it. The chase in the skies was good, except that I hate when they do what they did in OotP: put the wizards flying close to cars and Muggles. Wizards don't do that!! Although, in this movie they had more reasons than in OotP ¬¬

The arrival at The Burrow is good: the RHr hugs is *squeee*able, and then Harry joins in and it's great. I only did not like Ron's tone when he says 'always the tone of surprise'... come on, he's pissed.

RON: he gets the time in this movie. I loved what they did, and Rupert's acting; however, the scene at Malfoy Manor was not quite as emotional as I would have wanted. I cried, but Ron was supposed to be crying like a condemned man!

Okay, back. Grimmauld Place, the almost holding hands scene, aww!!

I loved the inclusion of Dobby at Grimmauld Place. Knowing that he dies, it almost broke my heart. The house elves looked much better (maybe a bit too digitalized, but nicely) here.

Camping was amazing. Sometimes Ron looked as if he was about to turn into a zombie, which was freakin' scary, but I loved that when he thinks Hermione has been snogging Harry out in the woods or something, and he goes all mad *hugs him* When he lives, I love what he does with the Deluminator, but the inclusion of those 'fun' lines made people laugh, and I hated them because... come on, he'll live straight away, you're not supposed to feel amused, damn you!!

I also loved what Hermione does with her scarf. I was thinking "Darling, will you cry??", and when she does it, it's super cute. The dance, I liked it, after all. Harry's awkward dance movements are hilarious. I loved to think that, when she rests her head on Harry's shoulder, she's thinking about the wedding and how she dance (she should have danced...) with Ron, and that this isn't Ron, but her friend Harry.

What else?

I loved the silver doe scene and the locket opening. Wow at those effects, they really scared me and I just wanted it to stop. But what about a hug between Ron and Harry, uh? :'(
And Hermione's reaction wasn't as I expected it... it almost made me angry! Hermione was really pissed, very, very mad!
When Harry said 'Just keep talking about the little ball of light coming through your heart'.... xD Goodness, yeah!

The scene at Xeno's is nice, the Tale of the Three Brothers is amazing.

And with the exception of a not enough concern about Hermione, Malfoy Manor was fantastic.

I didn't quite like that Bill says he was bitten by Greyback as if, well, just happened over the summer, you know, nothing to worry about, oh, and I'm also marrying this French girl you hadn't seen since movie 4.

Where on earth was the super cute brother/sister talk I expected in the wedding, and Krum, and Ron being super jealous? In the extra scenes? I don't want to wait four months!

And Hermione is like dead, she can't be walking around at Shell Cottage...

Anyway, I can't hold it till July.

I would write more but I actually should get going, haha.
