I love this idea. It is amusing at the moment with mostly just the basic text that was put up to start it. It will be interesting to see if something reasonable comes out of it , or if the flamers and nut bags take it over.
Researchers from Cornell put up this site to have the public(worldwide) wiki create a composite presidential candidate.

Hello,
Have you ever been annoyed with presidential campaigns? Have you ever been amazed at how difficult it seemed for a candidate to grasp a simple problem or issue? Have you ever felt you had a unique insight that was totally absent from the political arena?
If you even hesitated in answering “no,” to any of these questions, we would like to invite you to take part in a fun new project. Here’s the deal.
The WikiCandidate Project is your chance to run for president. We are inviting you to participate in designing a special website, just like the campaign sites used by real candidates, with one exception: all of the text and multimedia content on it is editable. Along with other users, you will build the campaign site of a fictional presidential candidate running in the 2008 election. The candidate’s life history, voting record, and issue stances are all up to you. Even the structure and layout of the site can be changed through discussion with the webmasters.
First and foremost, the WikiCandidate Project is supposed to be a fun website and an online community. But it’s also a research project run by graduate students at the Cornell University Department of Communication. In a presidential election, it’s common for people to be disappointed in the choice of candidates. Each person running has some character flaw, holds a position on an issue you don't share, says something you wish they hadn't. So, we wondered, free of practical constraints like life history, party politics, and voting record, who is (and can there be) a perfect presidential candidate?
