I wrote this after chatting with
fireun and it definitely needs some work. I can't decide if its too vague or not vague enough.
Title: This Moment
Series: Fullmetal Alchemist
Rating: PG.
The human condition is both inspiring and intimidating. The most traumatic or euphoric memory can easily be triggered by a single object through any of the senses. The worst trigger is usually vague and can be bring up a thousand moments that shoot across your mind like emotional diarrhea. People are like snowflakes, instant and fragile, yet when grouped together can change an entire landscape.
Blonde hair blowing in the wind, this is what I see.
A cool strong hand grasping my hip, this is what I feel.
When you look at anything, everyone will see the same thing yet describe it differently. I can only tell my point of view. It is the only thing I have left and even that will soon be lost. I'm writing this letter to you wherever you are may it be in heaven or hell, beside me or forever separated from me.
The earthy scent of sand and sweat, this is what I smell.
Your gentle rumbling as I watched you sleep, this is I hear.
It takes a special kind of courage or maybe just blind faith to die for a cause. Vikings burnt dead heroes to send them off to the next life. Anyone who knew you could definitely tell that you were trying to be a hero whether to yourself or those close to you. You left nothing and yet everything behind and since I don't have a grave to visit I can only hope. Hope that the burning embers of this last cigarette will be the our guidepost.
Your lips on mine and fresh cinnamon, this what I taste.
Your words to me as you turned away, this is what I dream.
...what I remember.
