Ah! The image of Cas taking care of Dean is just so sweet. It's also kind of sad but who else has bothered to do that with him really?

And I feel bad for poor Adam. Talk about a wasted character. Why bother adding a third brother so late in the game anyway if they weren't even going to use him really?

"There is a reason that you are the Righteous Man, Dean, and not your brother or anyone else. You care about what is right and just. You don't allow such things as the end goal to compromise your morals and your actions.

This! This is what I love most about Dean. No matter what, he always tries to find a way to do the right thing regardless of the consequences.

Yeah, I love it when Cas shows how much he cares about Dean. And I agree, no one since his Mom has really looked after Dean.
I don't think the writers intended for Adam to be there at all until they learned about season 6 and had to alter the planned ending to make another season possible. Sometimes I wish it had ended with five seasons just so I could see Kripke's intended season 5 ending. I bet Dean would have played a much bigger role in the end of the Apocalypse.
Yes, exactly!

The moment you mentioned the name "Raziel" in the story I couldn't help but think of Christopher Moore's 'The Stupidest Angel' and 'Lamb'. By any chance is it a reference to THAT Raziel?

Well, that character is probably based on the same angel, but I've never read those and wouldn't do a crossover. And, given the first title, this character won't be anything like that. No, the reason I chose him is because the info I saw listed him as the Keeper of Secrets and the Angel of Mysteries as well as being close to God. His name means Secret of God which was appropriate given that I intended this archangel to have vanished after being given an assignment by God.
Jophiel was chosen as she (the name strikes me as female) was described as fighting with Michael and I wanted an archangel that had been killed facing Lucifer until Michael arrived. Then I chose Simiel as that archangel seems to have darker mythology and the alternate name, Samael, is often associated with Lucifer. I just chose to go with Simiel as we already have Sam and Samuel and I saw no need to confuse things any further.

Thanks!
Actually none of the lists I saw included Lucifer, not even the Roman Catholic ones I found (there was more than one, it seemed to change over time). I was really surprised by that but decided to ignore it as it's pretty obvious in our series he is.
