Title: Unexpected Destinies Rating: PG-13 Spoilers: up to and including Exile on Main St., AU from the end of season 5 Warnings: AU, slash Word Count: 2,650 Summary: Sam is forced to reveal some more of the truth to his family.
\o/ Yay, first comment (unless someone else hits send just before me, of course...).
Great update. Will Dean and Cas meet with Sam and co? Will Cas know why Sam's having such issues with the cleansing spells? Will they reveal anymore about the Apocalypse? Will Christian get his comeuppance?
I can't help feeling a little bit of vindictive glee that Christian is suddenly giving Sam the cold shoulder. It seems fitting for him to lose the close cameraderie to contempt, much as he did to Dean, however Sam dresses it up for himself.
Go Bobby, though. Don't mess with Bobby, idjits!
Will past and present eventually catch up with each other? If so, how far off is that? How much more is there for Dean and his angels to do before meeting Sam and co?
Nope, first comment goes to you today! Thanks and the answers to your many questions will come... later. Sorry :P Yes, Sam does deserve the way Christian is treating him just now. I wanted a bit of a mirror with what he'd done to his brother. They will definitely catch up to each other, but I've given up trying to predict when that will be. I thought I knew but given how many chapters certain scenes are taking, I've just admitted defeat and am letting the story take me there. What I can say is that we're mid to late February in the 'past' right now and October in the 'present.'
Yay, I win... well, nothing actually, but never mind *vbg*.
I'm glad that the past isn't catching up too soon and that my questions won't all be answered in the next few chapters, because it means there's still loads of ficcage to come. \o/
I like where this is going. I'm really excited for when Sam see Dean and Castiel together again and finally figure out that they're more than friends, but mates. It'll be awesome. And Sam's secret addiction has to come out to the Campbells at some point, right? Anyway, looking forward to your next chapter!
If only his father had thought to do a simple cleansing spell on him years ago! It really was kind of unforgivable that Dad hadn't given their line of work and especially if the man had possessed even an inkling of what had happened in his nursery that faithful night.
Riding the self-righteousness horse to the GROUND, Sammy.
And, I like how nicely he side stepped explaining anything to his family. /sarcasm.
Though, I note how he's so sure he knows Dean, when in fact, Bobby, at this time, knows much more... *big grin*
Yeah well, Sam always did sit high on that particular horse IMHO. He just never realized it, thought it was righteousness. He's in for some big surprises in the not too distant future.
OMG, I just want to reach through the screen and smack him up side the head!!!!!!
All that self-righteous crap about how everything is anyone's fault except his own, and how he STILL won't come clean about the demon blood.
Sam, Sam, Sam. You sooooo deserve what is coming to you. I can see it now, he'll start to say something negative about Dean and Cas will smite him. Gently, of course, because he is Dean's brother, but smite him none the less.
That was pretty much what I was thinking while writing this chapter! Lol, please do explain how you smite some gently, I'd dearly like to know! And yes, both options do sound particularly appealing just now, don't they? Glad to see you again, btw, I was hoping you hadn't fallen off the face of the planet!
Yay! Ok read the other comments so I'll only say this...I can not wait until the Campbell's find out what Sam was doing with Ruby while Dean was saving his life and trying to stop the Apocalypse.
Also can you tell me which chapters featured an explanation of the Rite of Contessa? I'm a little confused about what they were doing when Simiel appeared (or really the why if Sam wasn't purified yet). I want to reread that part and try to understand it more but there are a lot of chapters and I keep jumping around trying to find the ones with it.
In case you haven't found it yet: off the top of my head I'm not sure what chapter this was mentioned in, but the Rite of Contressa prevents Lucifer from being able to take a vessel. Simiel knew of this Rite from way back when and thus tried to prevent Michael from finishing it when she knew what was going on. While it prevents Lucy from taking a vessel after performed (thus Sam would be safe), Dean has thought that it wouldn't be a permanent solution as Lucifer and Simiel would try to find a way around it and he fears that they will eventually. Does that clarify things?

Or, Dean will deck him.
Not sure which one I want to see the most. :)
