Title: Unexpected Destinies Rating: PG-13 Spoilers: up to and including Exile on Main St., AU from the end of season 5 Warnings: AU, slash Word Count: 2,616 Summary: Michael and Dean begin collecting ingredients for the Rite of Contressa.
Yeah, equals won't ever truly be possible, not with the inherent power difference, but Dean will make Michael see just what humans can do. And yea, first comment. I posted a bit later then normal which I think threw a lot of people off.
That chapter, with Dean explaining true respect, and the priest's reaction, was terrific. I love the way you convey Dean's sense of wonder and delight at the new information that is coming available to him now.
I keep seeing the reaction of the clergymen in the Vatican, when Dean and Raphael appeared. I bet *every* Cardinal who happened to be in Rome as well as His Holiness made tracks to the archive, at record speeds. Not to mention lower ranked priests and pretty much everyone else. *giggle* A stampede of robed figures.
And security is probably awesome there - at this point, probably every conceivable detail of Dean' life is on file in the Vatican. Including his ... dubious ... legal history. Actually, not simply on file - carefully memorized by security forces who would make a rabid wolverine look personable.
(Is that the sound of the Swiss guards having a collective stroke?)

Thanks! Lol! It would be interesting to be a fly on that particular wall, wouldn't it? The only thing to remember would be that the RC church almost definitely knows about all that exists out there and thus could probably read between the lines of Dean's record to a certain extent. Still, there's a lot there that would make then wince.
Oh! I love this inside look into angels that Dean is getting. It is definitely an eye opener.
It took Dean a few seconds to realize that he really shouldn't be able to understand what the priest had just said. Not if they were in Western Belgium. What did Belgians speak anyway? Belgish?
"You could comprehend him?" Michael questioned, surprised.
"Yes, shouldn't I be able to?"
"Not really, no. You must be taping into my ability to comprehend all languages."
"Oh, oops."
"I do not mind, it is merely surprising. But now you can see how easily information and knowledge is shared between us."
"Yeah."
Oh! Interesting.
I just love Mike showing off his wings. How cool!
There was a subtle twist of Grace against his soul and Michael made a surprised little noise. "I always thought your lack of proper respect was born solely of defiance, but you truly believe this
( ... )
The image of Dean with shadows wings surrounded by candlelight popped into my head and wouldn't go away, so it just had to be added in there. Sometimes I really wish that I could draw to add another level to it all! Thanks!
YOUR GOING TO BE LATE?! OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!! lol j/k :P
Have I mentioned how much I ♥ this story and the relationships between your characters in my last 60 or so comments? Because I REALLY do! I love how with every chapter they are not only learning from each-other, but learning to respect one another.
Amazing work as always and I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Whenever that may be. (I can do patient) ;)
