Title: Unexpected Destinies Rating: PG-13 Spoilers: up to and including Exile on Main St., AU from the end of season 5 Warnings: AU, slash Word Count: 2,725 Summary: Castiel deals with the consequences of Dean having said yes to Michael.
This was a fantastic chapter! Cas' point of view was stunning. I really loved his self-realization of how badly he had treated Jimmy, and his very big mistake of using Claire. Even though I think he would do the same thing now, if it meant saving Dean. But he would be gentler to the person this time, not just see them as a tool.
Like the wings, and how Cas thought they looked so natural on Dean.
Yep, another one. Careful, though, I might take it as a challenge to see how many in a row I can do :) Thanks! Yeah, I think when it comes to saying Dean there isn't much that Cas won't do, just like we've seen with Dean when it comes to Sam (and Cas would now get that too). But, yes, he'd have more respect and understanding now. I know, but remember, it's Michael with wings really. Could get messy if one forgets that :)
I can see right now that I'm going to have to stop flailing. It's giving positive reinforcement to the wrong thing.
*grin*
And I know that they are really Michael's wings, but they are currently on Dean - so - still Yummy. You don't really mention the color, other than they are a diffent color than when Michael is in Deirdre, so I'm going to assume that they are the color of the vessel's hair. Which would make 'Dean's' wings various colors of brown. Like an eagle?
Lol! Yes, Dean with wings definitely = yummy to me too! As for the color thing, yes, pretty much. I'm planning to go into that a bit further in the next chapter. Since Cas is used to them, he wouldn't really think much on it as that's just the way it is.
:) Lol! People used to beg me for more 'present' chapters and I always had mixed feelings about that. Guess I found a way to prevent that *grin* No worries, though, I got to the 'present' about every 10 chapters. That will change at some point, but only once the 'past' is close to the 'present' and we're still months away (January vs. September/October-ish).
Ah! Poor Cas! His self realization over how badly he treated Jimmy and Claire must have been quite an eye opener. Not to mention his new insight into Dean's way of handling things.
"What?" Castiel demanded. "What is it? What's wrong?"
"He's stirring," Michael replied in disbelief. "Dean, he is... he is waking."
Yeah, like it wasn't a hard enough thing for him to deal with, he has to have other stuff piled on top of it. But it also shows that it's possible for angels to go from that to where he is now. No, of course not, it's Dean! Thanks!

All I can think is, "Heel Yeah!"
Of course, Dean wouldn't stay down for too long.
