Title: Unexpected Destinies Rating: PG-13 Spoilers: up to and including Exile on Main St., AU from the end of season 5 Warnings: AU, slash Word Count: 2,163 Summary: Raphael argues his points for why Dean should say yes.
However, I really like the way the Michael figured out which nickname Dean would use and why. Still not sure about Raphael, but he does seem to be on our boy's side, just still a bit of a dick. We'll know that Dean has really accepted him when he comes up with a nickname.
But, what kind of nickname? Ralph? Turtle? (Would love to see him explain that one. :) )
Yeah, I hadn't even thought about them until the conversation just went there, but then I was glad for the alternate pov. Made it a bit easier to deal with. Michael's pretty smart, he just needed some help getting over himself :) Lol, turtle? Oh I can just imagine the look on his face if Dean called him that, even before he knew what if was a reference to. Thanks!
I loved the chapter. As always, great writing talent! I like when characters reveal themselves to others and the others begin to see them in a different light. Maybe one day Raphael will begin to understand Dean like Michael is trying to. I like that Michael is growing on Dean and that Dean likes him more now. And it seems that Dean is growing also, instead of just flying off the handle. Like in acknowledging that his anger was misdirected at Michael. And like that Michael admitted to knowing about the plan for using Adam as his second choice of vessel. Can't wait to read more!!!
Thanks! Maybe, but I think Raphael will be stubborn as well as not being able to see things clearly. It would be hard for him to admit to a human that he was wrong even when he realizes that he was. Yeah, Dean and Michael are both maturing in regards to each other. Though grudgingly on both of their parts.
Definitely, which is why the alternate point of view helped as it meant we didn't get away from the main point of the chapter. Though, to be honest, I hadn't even thought about those memories until I got to that point in the conversation. That's definitely what I wanted to get across, they don't have many options here and can't afford to outright dismiss things without due consideration. Thanks!
