So, I work in a restaurant up here in the Trenton area...and for the first time in about a decade I am the only gay guy on staff. For months I have been putting up with all the stupid commentary like "oh that's so gay..." or "why you gotta be such a fag..." amongst my co-workers (non aimed at me...just things that they say in general conversation

I'm assuming you're the newest server to be hired there. Maybe they've all been accustomed with each other that they wouldn't do so well with new outsiders joining their "team" of servers. Just my two cents. But agreed, you should just flat out and tell your GM that it's not fair as to why you couldn't make one comment.

If the GM fired you or bitched at you about it, I don't think it falls under the Equal Opportunity Employer thing since you're not treated equally. Oohhh. Maybe you could question as to if the GM would bitch at you if they didn't know you were gay.
