Ekphrasis (aka really bad poetry)

May 11, 2009 11:57

Poetry that I wrote ages ago, but it seems oddly appropriate for this point in my life.

Staring up, to the ocean, rippling
Snake the treasures, gold and royal purple
The ocean stirs above, looming
Looming, looming
Threatening, suffocating
I can't breath as the ocean begins
to leak.
Drops of salt sink through my skin
shrivel my brain
The flesh, gone from the mortal realm,
of kings pounding down on me
wrinkle my skin
Take out my eyes from their sockets
cuddle them against the golden flesh
keep them safe and blind
So that I cannot see this ocean
looming, looming,
looming
