Question about Last Escort~

I'm curious if Last Escort 2 is better than the first one? I've played about 10 minutes of the first one before selling it back ._.; Of course that was years before I had the patience to understand how to play, but....
It looks like the graphics got super upgraded for 2. My friend's been wanting to cosplay a character from LE2, and I wanted to know if it's worth buying the game itself or if it's better off just to get the artbook and nix the playtime, if that makes sense.
