On May 23rd, I purchased EA Sports: Active Personal Trainer for the Wii. Last night was my eighth work out out of 20 in the 30 day challenge. It can be played with or without the Wii Fit Balance Board. In fact, though I have my profile setting to use the balance board, I only have a workout that incorporates the balance board maybe once or twice a week. I definitely work up a sweat much more quickly than I do with Wii Fit. I think the biggest plus is that it sets up a full work out for you instead of arbitrarily selecting individual exercises and hope they are a benefitial combination. My only complaint is that there isn't much in the way of exercises that target the core. Plenty of cardio and stuff for upper and lower body stuff. Trust me, I have seen no end to the squats, lunges and variations of. I was recommending it to a friend of mine, but also mentioned that because of the running/jogging in place and the jumping exercises, it's kind of one of those "play if no one lives below you" kinda games. ^_^; That is, unless you happen to know when your downstairs neighbors are out.
Anyhow, I'll be rounding out my second week this coming weekend. Fortunately, today is a rest day because I'm still kind of nursing an ankle injury that had me limping for about a week. Over the last few workouts, I've found that the running sets, in which they generally have you do 2.5 laps around the track, leave me less winded. So even though I'm not seeing an immediate change in weight or body measurements, I at least feel my stamina is increasing. Also a little thing I've noticed is that the city skyline that you see in the backdrop of the track and certain exercises reminds me a lot of Seattle... minus the Space Needle. Probably because it's got a large body of water to the West of the city. ^_^;
So I've been enjoying that, and I'll probably post my results on June 21st, when I've hit day 30. My starting weight was 246.
