Peep-a-deeps
I feel hideously accomplished, even though I still have a shitload of things to do still.
I got about half of my holiday grocery shopping done today, which is nice because it means Thursday night will be slightly less of a hassle for me. thatother_girl and I are sharing the cooking duties of the Christmas weekend and so far my part of the menu is as follows below
Christmas Eve
Filent Mignon lightly rubbed with olive oil and seasoned (She's making mushrooms and onions in a brandy sauce to go along with it, as well as bringing some yummy fresh bread)
Christmas Day
Pigs in Blankets made with croissants and beef sausage for breakfast
Honey Lime Chicken Quesadillas
Beef and Vegetable Lettuce wraps with hoisin sauce
Cranberry Sangria
(She's doing several other tapas type items and Jackal said he'd make General Tso's Chicken and Orange Chicken in an appetizer style, plus there's the prerequisite chips/dips, and bread/cheese/meat platter. Plus she's making a sparkling punch with a base of blood orange sherbet, spiced rum, and european soda)
Sunday - for when rabid_x returns from Florida and joins us
I'm making an awesome spanish dish of Grilled Chicken with Honey and Cumin with an apple alioli
thatother_girl is going to make a spiced couscous to accompany it
Ambitious, yes, but we're looking forward to it like mad. We don't often get to cook together, usually we all just trade off weekends when we get together as far as who is the chef, but it'll be so awesome to actually bustle around the kitchen together.
In other news, I've finally put together a solid over-arching storyline for my epic Marvel Universe piece. It should only take me like, a year to finish. lol I'm starting to work on my outline so that I keep it on track, but that'll be easier once the holidays are over. I did get a little more on paper and all I'll say right now is that Bullseye is a nasty fucker.
