...is what I named my current in use icon *points* And it's very much what I would like to do right now. I must stop staying up until way-the-fuck-too-late and then expecting that I can just get up at 6:00 and be fiiiine to drive to work. The following post is going to be kind of disjointed and topic-jumpy. Prepare yourself.
First of all,
Thank. God. This last episode really got me back on board with all of the characters. Kurt and I have been solid this whole time, I think Chris is amazing because I never lost a connection to Kurt. But seriously I was getting sick as hell of Rachel and Finn, but both of them made me ridiculously proud this episode.
In reference to Dave... damn. That kid is so getting abused at home. It's something that
rabid_x and I have been bandying about for a couple weeks now, but last night after Sue's comment that usually people who bully have been bullied and then the fact that dad was all super-calm guy at the office (I've known fathers that you think are big sweethearts and then behind closed doors not so much) I'm putting money on Glee touching on the abuse issue.
Whether they'll do it just verbal/mental or go for the physical as well, I've got no clue, but yeah. Poor Dave. And poor, poor Kurt. I feel just awful for him and can't wait until this is all resolved and he's back at McKinley where he belongs!!
Meanwhile, yay Rachel for putting her foot down on the bullying - and for once doing it for no other reason than it was the right thing to do. And yay Artie and Mike and Sam!! *adores* And yay Finn for manning up and that dance at the end and the most perfect song ever. I actually got teary. Because I'm a big ol' girl.
Seeing Sue's mom be a horrible person (Love you, Carol!) was epic. It was nice that they're slowly giving you these pieces that let you figure out why Sue is Sue and why she's still loveable. And she was Bad. Ass. Handling the Kurt/Dave situation, even if the school board pulled rank on her. Oddly enough, Principal Sue wasn't so bad. But it'll be nice to have Sue back where she belongs, helming the Cheerios with an iron fist.
As always, Santana = Death Ray. Puck = Love!
Now that that's out of the way, a riddle for you. Who has two thumbs and just finished all their Christmas shopping thanks to Amazon Prime? This chick! I'm so excited - usually for me it comes down to the wire, but I have everything I'm getting folks picked out, some stuff ordered, the others saved in my cart and ready for me to hit 'purchase' as soon as my next paycheck comes in. All budgeted out and everything. *is proud of self*
In other news, I bought the wrong gum. I have an addiction to the 5 Rain gum (in the green box) because it is wonderful and I chew it during the day because unlike in Japan I can't smoke at my desk (I so need to find employment in Japan). But I accidentally grabbed the Stride spearmint gum from next to the register the other day. Does anyone know if this gum is any good? I'm picky about my gums.
Let's see, other new things - I joined
Last Author Standing. More to the point, I joined three groups:
cbs_las,
jossverse_las, and
tnt_las. Thankfully the first one doesn't start until after the holidays, but still. Why? Because I'm insane. And I only just barely talked myself out of joining
movie_las. Maybe next round.
With the CBS one, I forsee a hell of a lot of CSI: NY fiction in my future. There's some Adam pieces and Don pieces I've been mulling for a while. Jossverse I imagine will be a nice resurgence to my Firefly fic as well as letting me get some Kennedy yah-yahs out. And TNT will definitely kickstart my Leverage fics again.
Plus, I'm working on my set of the 12 Gays of Christmas.
rabid_x and I finally split them up. She's doing a Cougar/Jensen, a Holmes/Watson, and an as yet undetermined couple from the Buffyverse.
Meanwhile, in my decidedly unstable nature, I decided that I would attempt Steve/Danno (thankfully already have the idea), Reno/Vincent (easy-peasy), and because I decided we needed to be more well-rounded - femslash.
I have to write femslash. Crap. And the worst part is I can't seem to pin down a couple. I've got ideas of Pepper/Natasha (Iron Man), Astrid/Olivia (Fringe), Willow/Kennedy (Buffy), Tara/Dawn (Buffy), Buffy/Faith (Buffy), Ziva/Abby (NCIS), JJ/Emily (Criminal Minds), Angela/Cam (Bones), Santana/Brittany (Glee), Quinn/Rachel (Glee), yeah... I have a problem. I CANNOT decide what the fuck I'm going to do. *sighs*
Thankfully I've got about a month.
