Monument "Compassion" to a mongrel stray dog

There are many meaningful monuments in Moscow. This monument entitled "Compassion" was installed at Mendeleevskaya metro station. As it is engraved on it, "the monument is dedicated to the human treatment of stray animals" and has a sad history. In 2001, at this place, a 22-year-old woman Yulia Romanova, with a great cruelty, killed a mongrel stray dog with a kitchen knife. The dog had lived at the Mendeleevskaya station for several years before and was called Malchik ("little boy" in Russian).
