And when did I forget enough ecology to think that killing them all as I see them is a sound management strategy?

Ewww those are really unpleasant to have in one's grains. We got them a couple times when I was growing up, I think. Good luck ex(or)cising them.

We don't have the problem with moths out here, but in dealing with ant infestations, the thing that solved it for us was to put everything in plastic. ziplock bags help, but, nothing beats the cheap tupperware-like containers: http://www.glad.com/containers/gladware_containers.php
