Okay so for the last three days or so I've been realllly OCD and neurotic about a lot of things. It started with cosplay stuff. I ran about my house psychotically throwing things together and managed to put together almost two full costumes that hadn't yet been given thoughts in the space of twenty-four hours. Not so bad, you say? It gets worse.

When I had finished the costumes, I started cleaning. I have cleaned the almighty hell out of my room. I have done everything BUT alphabetize my bookshelf. I have cleaned out my dresser, my desk, my closets, and under my bed, and color-coordinated my clothes in my closet, and have accumulated a garbage-bag full of things for Goodwill and a garbage-bag full of garbage.

NO ONE BUT ME SEEMS TO THINK THIS IS A BAD THING. I CAN'T BEGIN TO IMAGINE WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME; SOME BIZARRE NEUROSIS HAS COMMANDEERED MY BRAIN AND I DON'T LIKE IT. OH GOD WRY.

(Laura thinks I'm just subconsciously preparing to move out in a month and a half, but I SWEAR that I am losing my minddddd. FOR SERIOUSSSSS.)

In other news, Happy Fourth of July!! We spent part of the afternoon at a picnic at a friend of the family's and then headed downtown into Pittsburgh for the big fireworks display. In all my eighteen years of living forty-five minutes away from Pittsburgh we've never been down to see the Fourth of July fireworks. And, if I do say so myself, THEY WERE AWESOME. We got there around 9:15, which seems early for fireworks scheduled to go off at ten-ish, but people were already settled in when we arrived. We circled about looking for a good parking space for a while, and then, just as we finally pulled into the only lot still accepting cars, one car's worth of people decided that they didn't really want to see the fireworks anyway and pulled out of their spot in the front row of cars just as we were coming down the aisle. So (by the grace of God) we had front row seats for the awesomeness! And awesome they were!! They had fireworks that looked like hearts!! and fireworks that actually looked like five-pointed stars!! and plenty of my favorites - the giant elegant golden blooming ones that look like so much gold glitter. We were in a low space between the buildings in Station Square and Mt. Washington, so the acoustics were amazinggg too. The fireworks would make the normal jarringly heartstopping boom upon exploding, and then the sound would bounce off of the mountain and the buildings and roll back like bombs and thunder. IT WAS SO COOL.

The fireworks were only about 20 minutes long (fireworks are always only about twenty minutes long >:P) and there were 34685976254 people in the parking lot (most of then drunk) so we headed down to the Hard Rock and had some appetizers for an hour or so while the crazies cleared out of the lot.

college, partay, i'm losing my mind
