I am so sick. I cannot ever remember being this sick in forever. I have some evil virus that makes all my parts ache all the time and I have this rasping cough when I breathe, which is, you know, pretty often. I'm currently nursing advil, tylenol, prescription cough syrup, chicken broth, and this delsyn cough powder that you mix with hot water. I sound like I've been a pack-a-day smoker for longer than I've been alive. Just moving around makes me unhappy.
This whole being sick thing comes on top of the post-con depression that has dogged me for the past week, leading me to do absolutely nothing at all for anyone except help my little brother play Kingdom Hearts. I am supposed to be writing several articles for mi amiga
kojonoyuri's new blog
Lady Geek Girl and Friends (I'm Lady Saika over there - you should check it out because it's an awesome collaborative nerd-girl effort) aaand I stiiiill haven't finished one that I started the Tuesday before Otakon. (To be fair, though, we've been having a bit of a family crisis and I've been trying to help hold things together, AND I've been sick, AND I've been sleeping terribly... the list goes on.)
(Ugh, my cough syrup's starting to kick in and fuck does it make me feel trippy... Here's hoping my spelling and code don't deteriorate from here on out....)
But so the most exciting thing that's happened this week (besides the Train concert after the Pirates baseball game I went to last night, DAMN can that guy sing) is that I GOT A CAT! :D She is my first pet of my own, I adopted her from the Humane Society. Her name is Sophie and she's a year old and so friendly and nice. :D Here is a picture (cameo by Andrew's foot):
She has big gold eyes and [so I definitely fell asleep here, and then got up and made myself dinner... I can't remember what else I was going to say about her.] She has gray-ish tortoiseshell fur and she's very sweet and sort of shy and she made me think of Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle, and the name just fit. :D
And finally, for your amusement and pleasure, I found this website that has nerdy drink recipes called
The Drunken Moogle they have grass pokemon-themed shots and Final Fantasy martinis and a Doctor Who-themed drink called 'The Sonic Screwdriver', which is just awesome if I do say so myself.
Annnnd now I'm going back to sleep before my meds wear off. Night all. :P
PS Also got a new layout. Not sure why they chose 'koe' (meaning 'voice') as the kanji in the background but I like it nonetheless. :D)
