Hello folks! How is everybody doing?
It's been a while, I know. A lot of my drive for drawing comics has waned the past year, but I am still moving forward on an original comic that I care a lot about. I appreciate everyone's support over the years, and I hope that Jpoprocks lives up to my older stuff in humor and entertainment.
Kassan: Fancy froo-froo "brains" of the band. He wishes to milk the popularity of recent J-rock into fame and fortune. His father is the headmaster of the college where he and Hallum go to school. Plays violin. Also enjoys fencing, and bringing out his sword at bad moments.
Halum: Normal indy-rock guy. Plays the straight man in the comic, and plays guitar. He's only willing to go ahead with Hassan's scheme because Saoki is a brilliant singer. Is Philipino and repeatedly reminds Hassan he's not Japanese damn it. Hassan sees Hallum as the "eye candy" of the band.
Saoki: Space alien that crash lands on Earth and has the unfortunate luck of meeting Hassan, who instantly takes him in. Saoki appears androgynous and "pretty" but he actually has no body, and therefore is sexless. He has the bad habit of eating people, music instruments, and various other objects. His home language consists of musical notes only, and his voice has the ability to emotionally move any human that hears it. If he's crying, you will be too!
Bilè: Name of the trio's band. Originally, Hassan wanted the name The Vas Defrens, because it sounded Latin, but Hassan said NO.
8 brand new pages under the cut!
To be continued!
I will explain one thing: Halum and Kasaan have earphone/mics they use on occasion when Saoki starts wailing or inflicts some other type of physical reaction through his voice. xD They're wearing them in this instance, so that's why they're not puking and also why they can hear themselves.
While I'm posting, I would also like to share with you an art auction I recently participated in for
The Angelcheeks foundation. We are trying to raise money for parents of children who have passed away. Many times parents do not apply for insurance and cannot afford to give their children a proper funeral. The auction is raising money for these parents. None of the money raised will go to me; it will be deposited to the foundation.
"A Sunny Day!"
The little angels are playing basketball with the sun. xD
If you'd like to bid for this piece, it's eBay page is
here. Other auctioned art can be found
here. All the money will be donated to Angelcheeks.
Thanks for your time, everyone!
Love,
Amakun.
