On a more serious note, this really boggles my mind and quite frankly, pisses me off. Thank god the Senate's finally moving through with it despite the worst the Repugs are throwing at it. Namely, blatant lying and shameless Tarantino'ing. (If you don't know what that means, watch Rachel Maddow some more).
What I still don't understand is how the fuck this is in any way a takeover of health are. It's the biggest lie of them all. Anyone with half a brain and enough free time to look it up will realize it's anything but. A public, government-run option is hardly what I call a takeover. It's going to be affordable and will help out millions of Americans who're otherwise constantly getting fucked over by Health Insurance Corporations, some of which recently increased rates by 30% after making record profits this past year.
Say what you will about OMG TEH GOVARNMENT, but... As it stands, Corporations are far more likely to pull the "Death Panel" deal than the Government. Their priority is delivering a profit to shareholders, NOT helping everyone out. They're so shameless and blatant about it that they've ALREADY fulfilled the "Death Panel" myth. Ever heard about the five year old battling with cancer that got DENIED health care because it'd be unprofitable? Here's one link to it. Google it and find more out.
http://rawstory.com/2010/02/countdown-fiveyear-sues-health-insurance-company/ Republicans are more concerned with looking out after corporate interests. Not you. They always have been. Just look at the past decade.
