Today into tomorrow constitutes Yom Kippur on the Hebrew calendar. It is a day of atonement, marked by fasting. I am something of a pansy and do drink water during it, but the point stands. It is a holiday meant to atone for ones sins over the past year, and beg for forgiveness.
I am not the most religious person in the world, but when I am home, I do try to fast so as not to eat in front of my mother.
All of this, though, is a way to say that I will be taking a break from FFXIII after sundown tonight until sundown on Saturday. Instead, I will be playing a game that, for me, is a way of atoning for all of the puns and usual funnery that I have done this year.
I will be playing...
Yes, it is the first-ever Yom Kippur Final Fantasy IX Challenge. How long can I stand playing FFIX before I give up? You, my loyal LJ readers, will find out.
Off to run errands and beat Chapter 6 of FF13 before I start this hellish gauntlet.
UPDATE: Impressively, FFIX is not with my other PS1 games. I wonder if I gave it away at some point of another. If I can scrounge up 10 bucks somehow, I will buy it off of PSN. If not, I will come up with something different to do instead.
