And a good time was had by all!
Yesterday morning I discovered that the loud noises coming from the basement were coming from one of the last of the yet-to-be-opened boxes from our move to PA. To my astonishment I found that a certain Norbear of distinguised lineage had awakened from a hibernation of some time and was demanding to be released from the 'hanger' along with his 'starship' (still looks like a totebag to me!). Fortuitously, I was able to deliver him along his journey into the capable hands of Steve Miller and Sharon Lee, as they were hosting a book signing a mere 45 miles away from my home.
I was so pleased to see them!! It was a wonderful, cozy gathering with other rabid fans, and they were so kind to sign ALL of my unsigned copies! That took some doing! And I was able to get myself my Christmas AND birthday presents for this year - Necessity's Child and Trade Secret! Signed!
The only dim part of the evening was coming across a charming elderly couple who had been attacked by a deer while driving - their VERY large pickup was completely crushed in the front, but all of their airbags had deployed and the couple was fine, though I had to insist that they put all the windows down in spite of the chill, as the cabin was still full of smoke from the airbags... they seemed okay to leave to wait for the emergency responders who were on the way, so I returned to my car and proceeded home.
Really, the best time I have had since last Christmas! I am now trying to plan a "Friends of Liad" holiday gathering, it would be fun to hang out with other people and discuss the books.
Anyone (besides you KKRaven!) interested in coming to Reading PA next month?
