Birthday news! or "I'd like some POONDCAKE!!!"

Hey everyone! I know it's been quite a few weeks since my last post(which was probably about how terrible Dragonball Evolution was) but I'm back now because I handed in all of my classwork and taken all of my finals. I'm still waiting on my grades on most of my classes so I'm not sure if I'll be graduating with honors or not. Getting all As was a bust this semester because, honestly, Asian Philosophy is an ass kick is I ever saw one. I know that the most I got in the class was a B so Magna Cum Laude will not happen for me. I can still hope for Cum Laude if I can manage no more than two Bs, which I feel good about. I think I have As in both American West history and Japanese 114, so now I just need to know the grades for Western European history, American lit since 1914, and Asian philosophy. Cross your fingers that I pulled off at least Cum Laude.

AND . . . My birthday was yesterday! I turned 26! Not that anything particularly special happens for 26 but it was still, all in all, a pretty good day. This year, I've received the most awesome presents! First up, from Grr-chan, a Mikuru Revoltech doll(seen here) that she got for me in Japan last month. With so many options concerning hands and faces and poses, Mikuru has changed three of four times so far. Thank you so much Grr-chan!

Next up, from Tim, a new laptop and a tablet(seen here and here"). Okay, so technically, the laptop was a graduation gift that we used most of what was left of my school loan on but it's main purpose is for running the Champions MMO when it releases this coming September. After adding up all the work I'd need on my current computer(RAM, a new hard drive, a new video card, etc), it was just more economical to get a new laptop, especially for this cheap. Tim got one a few months ago after his computer died a terrible virus-laden death so we know it's well worth the money. We've been promised it runs games like WoW flawlessly(we've been toying around with Free Realms and it works extremely well there). I know how bad the lag can get so I think that, when we start to play Champions, it'll be awesome. The tablet is also super fun! I've been playing around with it and I think I'm coming along okay(see here). I know I need a lot more practice with it but I'll be looking for tutorials soon so we'll see how I progress.

Next up, from my sister, I got ingredients to make Duk Gook and some nummy Japanese gummies. Duk Gook is a Korean rice patty soup that we used to enjoy because my grandmother was good friends with one of her Korean neighbors and we'd get it every time we went to visit. It's so nummy but hard to find the ingredients in most places. I look forward to it when I finally do get to make it. The gummies are very delicious. I regret not getting them at conventions sooner.

So far, that's really it. Chris and Linda say my present should be on its way soon and I'm curious what it will be. I've only received two birthday cards so far, but I'm really only expecting one more from my grandma and grandpa on my mom's side. Hopefully these things will arrive soon and I can call and thank the senders. The two people who have sent me cards(Daniel and Jen and my grandma on my dad's side) I thanked(either through Yahoo messenger or through a phone call). Daniel and Jen also included a $25 gift certificate to Outback and a nummy burger was had by me.

The day was mostly very fun. We got up and Tim made me a delicious waffle breakfast and, around lunch time, we headed out to play pirate mini golf. Then we got some lunch and killed some time until the go kart place opened. 35 MPH is very fast in a go kart. It was very fun but a little scary. I kept worrying that I was going to spin out but I think I'd like to do it again, after my hip feels a lot better that is.

Unfortunately, the down part of the day occurred towards the end. I got this recipe for Cornish game hens stuffed with cheesy rice that looked delicious. Because the people here are morons and think a 5lb frying chicken is the same thing as a Cornish game hen, we had to adjust the recipe, not realizing that it would take six hours from start to finish(I only really allotted three for it) so dinner wasn't ready until 11 last night. I didn't even get to touch my cake. Tim has a PT test this morning so we only had a little bit of our chicken and then wrapped them in plastic wrap. We'll be warming them back up in the oven around lunch time and, since we still have most of our chickens, we'll be enjoying those for probably all of today(5lbs of chicken is a lot of chicken).

All in all, that was about it. Since dinner took much longer than planned, everything we were planning on doing last night, we'll do tonight. I think it'll be fun.

And, on a last note, the Street Fighter collab came out on Newgrounds. More yay for Egoraptor(see here, really only the first part). I'll try to update more often now since all I'll be looking for a job and whatnot. And that's not really something that should keep me from updating.

Later everyone!
