The genius of Joss Whedon can not be expressed enough. I worship him as my patron saint, and he is the well from which my geek is sustained. The Whedon verse nourishes and supports the fragile geek in me so that it not only survives but thrives. The current run of Re watching Buffy and Angel is truly wonderful, and it helps expand my geek universe that much more. Instead of dwelling and isolating as is a side effect of rewatching some shows, whedon's shows only urge you to expand your geekdom with every intake. My craving for Buffy, Angel, and Firefly lead me to the campiness of Xena, high anticipation of true blood, and the ridiculous ness of twilight. He does not abandon us, but instead leads us to Dollhouse and Dr. Horrible. He encourages to try new mediums, taking into comics with the eighth of buffy, from whence I met Warren Ellis's webcomic Freakangels and classic Graphic novels. He started my love for gaming with the buffy board game(which I've played litteraly hundreds of times). Even through hardships like the Buffy/Angel network split, Firefly cancellation, or the Spike/Angel comic book rights he sees us through, shepards us across the gap. Whedon inspired Emmy the Emasculator and countless others. It is this reason I'm going to make a bust of whedons head, something to light candles around on occasion.
Thank you Whedon, for the inspiration, the hope, and the wonderful geek I've become.
