The commute to UConn is a caustic mess.
It is not the 1.5 hours it takes to get there.
It is not the multiple gallons of gas everyday.
It is not the Mass Pike toll prices.
It is not the fact that a one way drive there on Monday takes longer than the entire duration of my one Monday class.
It is the strange conspiracy of how every day, I get stuck behind cars from Maine during the times I'm on one lane, non-passing roads.
People from Maine tie up there in the slow rankings of people from Pa and Fla...
Yes, every single day, I've been stuck behind at least 1 car from Maine to and from campus. You want to know the most vindictive instance? I was driving behind a Land Rover going a good 15 mph under the speed limit (I kid you not) - I look down to the license plate: sure enough, it is a Maine plate... No suprise as it is to be expected from Maine people. What got me was the plate "number": MAINE it read. That's right; the king of all Mainards was a Land Rover with a Maine plate that read MAINE for the plate number...gah!
I am forever cursed in the trails of Maine vehicles for the rest of the semester!
