It's been a week since I fell. My shoulder is a little better, but my muscles under my ribs are still way screwed- when I wake up in the morning, sitting up is excruciating pain, and I have to help my abdominals with my arms. I will be making an appointment soon to follow up as per the doctor's orders when I was seen for my shoulder.
I only went to work once this last week for 3/4 a normal day. We have deadlines and I've not been able to work. My boss rocks but I think he's irritated and I'm stressed out over it. I freaking love to work and I haven't been able to which makes me sad.
I did, however, reverse engineer a database algorithm when I did go in. He assigned me to it because he didn't want to invest a ton of time into it and maybe come up with nothing. When I go to work monday I get to write a PHP script to reconstruct the same algorithm instead of ASP.net.
I've been continuing to make my computer setup more and more epic. I've got dual screens set up to simulate dual monitors now, one being a vista x64 gaming/graphics machine and the other a linux x64 web server machine. I added my laptop to the mix and am building a productivity machine out of it with vista business x64 dual booted with linux x64 with a web server with everything I need for some hardcore coding and graphics editing in both. Also I tested Aion on it and it works great on minimum settings.
Recently I got the 2 new Bionic Commando games (remake of an 80s game that I love) because there's a special on steam. Bionic Commando for Xbox360 is 60 bucks- Bionic Commando on PC is 40 on steam. There was a special with the new Bionic Commando and a 3d remake of the original side-scroller (still side-scroller, just 3d instead of 2d) for 44 bucks. Then I hooked my Xbox360 controller up to my computer and played them with it. Awesomeness resulted. I've beaten them both but I'll have to play through on harder settings.
Other than gaming I've been working on my website. It is still mostly in the planning stages, but it will be very awesome. I'm gonna set myself up with a nice little freelance platform.
My dad has given my brother an ultimatum. He has to be A) in school or B) producing a decent, steady income by October or else. So as soon as I'm off of vicodin I'm going to go buy fiberglass materials and some plaster of paris and start making molds with my brother so he can sell custom made hood vents and stuff.
This weekend I'll either do the valve work on my Camaro or pull the heads off my Jeep and see what's up. For the valve work:
1) pull spark plug out
2) push length of rubber hose in hole from spark plug
3) turn engine with long wrench so that the piston is top dead center
4) pull valve cover off
5) compress valve spring
6) remove rocker arm
7) remove valve retainer
8) remove valve spring
9) remove old valve stem seals
10) replace with new valve stem seals
11) put on compressed valve spring
12) put on valve retainer
13) remove valve spring compressor
14) reinstall rocker arm
15) adjust rocker arm to factory specifications with feeler gauge
And guess what the fun part is... each cylinder has an intake valve and an exhaust valve. So I get to do the whole process 16 times! That and the specifications for intake and exhaust valves are different, as are the seals themselves.
I will probably do the Jeep first so I have a car I can drive if that valve work takes too long.
With all the computer exposure I've been getting lately and the sleep exposure I haven't been getting a lot of, my eyes are way bloodshot. I look like a freakin demon almost. If this is an eye [ O ] with O being the pupil, my eyes are like this, with X meaning redness:
[XXO ] [ OXX]
They're bloodshot, but only on the outsides. In my tired/medicated stupor I just thought hey.. my eyes are red, white, and blue! >.>
This next week may be pretty rough. I haven't been to church in 2 weeks.. I was sick, then I was injured last week, and tomorrow I can't drive because of the vicodin. But on Monday I /have/ to be at work and I /have/ to be at FHE because we have some major stuff we're wrapping up at work and I'm group leader at FHE so I have to be there.
Anyway, I'm starting to doze and be asleep enough that I'm out for a few minutes seeing myself work on stuff and then I realize my eyes are in fact closed. Lucid dreams ftw? Bedtime.
