Everytime I get up in the morning I can't wait to go to work. Then when I'm leaving work I can't help but feel that I freakin love my job. I love my job. I love /having/ a job and I love loving what I do at my job. I feel smarter every time I come home after programming all day long and I feel a sense of pride in my work. And I sleep way better at night because I am exhausted from working so hard all day. It's just awesome all around.
At work I typically have up to 5 files open in my code editor and I have the window split so I can look at my current file at 2 places. I also tend to have 20+ firefox tabs open (several spots on the site I'm developing, database GUI, CMS, reference sites, music playlist) and 6 files of spreadsheet/word file documentation from the client + CMS Dev references. Long story short, I have a LOT of crap open at the same time. At any given time, the things I am actively looking at are my code in 2 places (scripting at the top of the page and the place where the scripts manipulate code), the customer documentation, the page I'm editing, and my FTP program. Long story short- I've decided it's time for that dual-monitor setup and I ordered a new LCD. I also use Synergy with my gaming computer and laptop or gaming computer and Linux server box. When the other LCD comes, I can do Synergy across gaming computer, Linux box, and Laptop. It will be good times. With that setup I can play Aion + code at home, and at work I'll use Synergy with my laptop and my work computer.
Aion's crafting system is very slow.. meaning I can gather materials and then click "craft all items" and my character will stand there crafting for 45mins+. That means I can code while I play the game =p
My Camaro continues to worsen. It is definitely on its last legs. However, I think I will rebuild the Jeep engine and build a Camaro engine from the ground up so I can get the maximum amount of learning out of my current cars. I've been studying a lot about building engines and I can't wait to actually build one.
At work I use mini notepads. Today I got a pack of mini notepads. They are awesome. They're just the right size to not get in the way but they still hold enough information to plan out script logic, draw diagrams, and write todo lists(which get very very extensive). I dunno why I get such a kick out of them. Did I mention I love my job? It FEEDS my logical mind and makes me happy. And I can embrace my strange geeky tendencies, like being so excited about mini notepads.
I also preordered a second Aion account today so that when it comes out I can dualbox it like I do with World of Warcraft.
Also, just pointing this out, but Photoshop CS3 used to be 600-800 bucks, but with CS4 out it's dropped to 160. Creative Suite 3 Web Premium has fallen down to 300 instead of 1700. This might be a possibility now =p
Time for bed though. I work a couple hours in the morning.
