Summary: Team Gai’s first kill.
Blood is getting everywhere. Just, everywhere. The man, their target, stumbles a step, two steps, falls. He is a so red.
They aren’t focused on that though. They are focused on Lee, stepping away, shaking like a tiny child, one hand at his mouth, the other frozen in a sharp right angle and stained in the blood dripping off his kunai. His knees give out and he sobs without tears.
Tenten is the first to go to him. She wraps her arms around him, rocking him lightly. She murmurs words more suited to mother and child then lovers. He leans against her, but he’s still shaking and whimpering and crying with eyes wide.
After a moment of stunned silence, Neji pulls them both close and Lee sobs himself into unconsciousness against his chest.
Love is a funny thing when you’re a weapon.
