For whatever reason, I don't get one new student at a time, I get a whole flood. Today I met one new student, set up an appointment with another, and had a third call but I couldn't meet her when she had time. For the record, Chris was also contacted by a student about private tutoring. Crazy. On top of that, I already had appointments today.
On the bright side, the college has been either opening late or closing completely because the weather's been so bad. I'd been worried about money but now it looks like I've got a fair shot of making up what I'm losing.
I've also got a crazy busy weekend. Bonus trip to NYC in, oh, two days if the weather holds. Three days, tops. It'll only be a day trip but I'm still looking forward to it. I've never been to NYC. So far, I don't think I've met an over-sized city I didn't like.
Plus, my last trip to the state of New York, there were these truckers at the Buck Horn Family Diner. They were scary. There's a full story
here, under the title about pick up lines and truck stops. And on my way out of the state, there was this family Jen and I terrified. The dad told his kids not to stare at me and my eyebrow piercing and Jen was totally in like...a black suit. They probably thought we were lesbian lovers. (We didn't discourage the idea, either. Why not scare them?) It'll be nice to be in apart of the state that isn't creeped out by me and I'm not creeped out by it. ;-)
Keep your fingers crossed about the weather.
