sing the common call

Dear ladies and gentlemen and those who do not wish to pick sides:

I finished NaNoWriMo! Yay me! I want to give a huge thank you to those who supported me, and congrats go to those who also finished (Yay Erin! Yay Jen/Anne!) and congrats also go to those who tried and didn't finish! Trying is most of the point of NaNo-I really believe that. Perhaps it's my protagonist talking, but I think a lot of what is important about NaNo is the imagination and impetus it takes to actually start your novel. As they mention on the website, a lot of people sit down and say, "I'd like to write a novel someday" but their "someday" never comes. Everyone's heard that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, right? NaNoWriMo, whether you finish or not, gives you that first or thousandth or fifty thousandth step. Everyone who participated should be proud.

And everyone who didn't participate? Well, heck, there's always next year! C'mon, it'll be fun! You know you want to join! (Peer pressure! Muhahahahaha! MUHAHAHAHA!)
